Senior Styled Session at the Ice Castles
As a senior photographer, I am always looking for new and exciting ways to bring a unique and personal touch to my clients' portrait sessions. A few years back, I heard about the incredible ice castle in Midway, Utah, I knew that this would be the perfect backdrop for a one-of-a-kind senior styled session. This is now my third year at the ice castles and each time, it never seems to astound me how much fun this session can be.
I had the pleasure of working with my three beautiful senior representatives, each with their own
unique personality and style. For this special shoot, I suggested that they wear prom dresses for a truly memorable experience, and they embraced the idea wholeheartedly. Some girls rented dresses from local shops in Utah such as Just Girl Stuff in Riverdale.
The ice castle was the perfect setting for our shoot, with its intricate ice formations, breathtaking
lights, and ethereal ambiance. As we wandered through the castle's winding pathways, I captured images of the girls as they twirled in their stunning gowns and basked in the glow of this winter wonderland. Little did we know, we would have an unexpected surprise during our shoot.
As the shoot went on, we started to draw a crowd of little admirers, including many young girls who were visiting the ice castle with their families. These young girls were absolutely captivated by the seniors' stunning gowns and sparkling personalities, and they began to ask for photos with the "princesses." It was a heartwarming moment for both the children and my senior girls, and it added an extra layer of magic to the already unforgettable experience of that day.
Every moment of our session was filled with laughter, joy, and a sense of adventure as the girls
explored their surroundings and struck a pose in front of the castle's incredible ice formations. Whether they were standing amidst the towering ice towers taking stunning portraits or huddled together in front of the heaters to stop the possible frostbite, the girls' were absolute troopers in dealing with the brutal Utah cold.
It was a truly magical day, and I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to work with these three
incredible girls. These memories will remain with my senior girls and I forever as a reminder of this unique and unforgettable experience.
